Hey! That was a joke of course! I know in Bemidji you say “Ohh Yaaaa shuurrreee” and maybe if they’re a little backwoods they’ll throw in a “you betcha” thanks for commenting on our blog! welcome! ruggedness is an understatement. Howdy Y’all??? Did someone really say that to you from northern MN? If so, they must have transplanted from the southern tier of the US. Hope this will be one of your more memorable adventures – especially the first 150 miles of the River. It’s pristine beauty has found a place deep within my heart. Having ‘paddled’ the first 65 miles numerous times, I never tire of the trip. It is hard work, but the intimacy of the ruggedness is well worth the effort required. Watch out for the barges after you leave MN! Paddle longer- sleep less! :<)
